Configuring Yahoo Email (Outlook)

If are using multiple email accounts, you must be facing trouble accessing each one of them every time. If you wish to centralize all your emails in one Inbox, you can try to configure Yahoo mail with Outlook (all versions). Outlook has a more stable environment and can work in offline mode also. This blog will help you to configure your Yahoo email with different versions of Outlook. Before you start, you should enable the “two-step verification” option of your Yahoo email account. If you forgot Yahoo password, reset the password first to proceed further. To enable the two-step verification, follow the steps given below-

  • Firstly, log-in to your Yahoo email account.
  • In the upper right corner, look for your “Profile Name” and click on “Account Info.”
  • Choose the “Account Security” option and enable “Allow apps that use less secure sign in.”
  • Your email account is now ready to accept the sign-ins from Outlook.

Configuring Yahoo Email with Outlook 2016 and 2019

  • Visit the “File” option and select “Info.”
  • Enter your Yahoo email ID and click on “Connect.”
  • Enter your email account’s password and again click on “Connect.”
  • You will be configured with Outlook.

Configuring Yahoo Email with Outlook 2007

  • Go to Microsoft Outlook 2007.
  • Select the option of “Tools.” A drop-down menu appears. Click “Account Settings” from the drop-down menu/
  • Click on the “Email” tab and then select “New.”
  • Choose from the options “Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP” and click on “Next.”
  • Click on the option of “Manually configure server settings or additional server types” and select “Next.”
  • In the email settings option, click on “Account Type” and enter “IMAP.”
  • Enter your account details, such as your name, email address, username, and password.
  • Go to “More Settings” and click on the tab “Outgoing Server.”
  • Check on the option of “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.”
  • Select the “Advanced” option.
  • Search for the option “Use the following type of encrypted connection.” Once you find it, choose “SSL” and enter “993” and “465” for Incoming server (IMAP) and Outgoing Server (SMTP), respectively.
  • Next, click, “Ok.”
  • Finally, click “Next” and then “Finish” on the “Internet Email Settings” window.

Configuring Yahoo Email with Outlook 2013

  • Visit the “File” option and select “Info.”
  • Click on “Add Account” and then select “Manual setup or additional server types.”
  • Click on “Next” and select the “POP or IMAP” option. Again, click on “Next.”
  • Go to the “Server Information.” Click “Account Type.” Choose “IMAP” from the drop-down menu.
  • Enter your details in the “User Information” section.
  • For the incoming mail server, enter “imap.mailyahoo.com.”
  • For the outgoing mail server, enter “smtp.mail.yahoo.com.”
  • Go to the “Login Information” section to check the correct username and password.
  • Click on the “More Settings” option, and under “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication,” choose the tab use same settings as incoming mail server.
  • Select the “Advanced” option.
  • Search for the option “Use the following type of encrypted connection.” Once you find it, choose “SSL” and enter “993” and “465” for Incoming server (IMAP) and Outgoing Server (SMTP), respectively.
  • Next, click, “Ok.”
  • Finally, click “Next” and then “Close” on the “Pop and IMAP Account Settings” window.
